Oh, Bother…..

Got a panicky phone call from a client just now. She’d ordered a chart and forecast for a friend of hers; she wanted it in time for her friend’s birthday and for most of last week, she was on the phone to me asking anxiously if it would arrive on time. I posted it Friday afternoon. She was on the phone to me Saturday, then Monday: “It hasn’t arrived yet!” Tonight she rang to tell me that it had finally arrived – but, she’d given me the wrong year of birth for her friend!
And her friend’s birthday is Friday! So now, I’m redoing the report, in time to post it off tomorrow.
Bah…..

My printer ran out of ink, so I could not print the new report.
No problemo – copy it onto a CD and use B’s machine and printer. So I click onto the CD-burning software: “Some files appear to be corrupted – please reinstall.”
No problemo – I have the software installation disk that came with my shiny new dvd/cd drive. So I go through all the uninstall and reinstall process. Try burning the CD again. “Drive already in use by another application.”
It is now nearly 10 in the evening and that dammm report has to be printed and in the post tomorrow.

I shall now go downstairs and scream very quietly…
